PAUL WHISSEL

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Board Certified Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy

Licensed to practice in New York, Massachusetts, and Florida.

Dr. Whissel has quickly become one of the most sought-after therapists in Buffalo. Known for his unique approach, he blends an advanced understanding of movement with a heavy use of hands-on treatments.

Dr. Whissel’s knowledge of how the body is linked and use of functional exercise stems heavily from his work in sports. Prior to earning his doctorate, he spent four-plus years working in strength and conditioning for the Buffalo Bills, Boston University hockey, and University of Texas basketball. During this time he was mentored by renowned coaches Mike Boyle and Todd Wright.

Now, Dr. Whissel sees a wide variety of individuals, including many who have been previously unsuccessful at managing their pain or symptoms. He works with several athletes and performing artists, and spent three years serving as physical therapist for Charlotte Ballet during their annual summer residence at Chautauqua Institute.

In June of 2016, he accepted a position as Director of Performance and Rehab with the Boston Bruins.
